Great story, a man definately after my own heart. I used to have a Westone Thunder 1A and I would trade every guitar I have had since then (if I still had them) Steinberger, Fender, Ibanez, Yamaha, the lot to have that back.

Well, hey! I own an Electra Guitar. Got a Rock2242, my very first electric guitar, back around 1976. One hell of a Gibson copy, excellent neck action. I haven't played her in at least 25 years (needs a replacement bridge) but I remember that baby could wail. Plan to get her rockin' by the end of the year.

Electra....Didn't these guitars make a line with interchangeable FX modules? I recall playing one, and thinking the guitar itself was very nicely made. Also, a very nice pricetag. Did they also have switchable pickup modules? Just trying to refresh my memory. :roll:

Well i can remember about 3 or 4 manufactures that did this back in the early 70's, but i don't remember exactly which ones they were now... Actually i think one of the might have been the Ampeg \"Wild Dog\", which was actually made by Burns Guitars. Yu got me curious now. This is alwys an interesting site to look around on for that kind of thing

That is a beauty. The guitars i was thinking of with the FX built in were designed to be much more in your face and up front about the fact that they were on board, however i like how they kept it mysterious with just toggle switches on these. Also thanks for sharing that site, it is full of wonderful guitars that are becoming more hard to find. The electr's ad this one http://www.jvguitars.com/showproduct.pl?id=1028629754 are steals.
