AEROSMIITH - did they give up?

For those of you that are old enough to remember when Aerosmith first came out, I have a question about fighting the good fight. When they first arrived on the scene, they were listed as \"Aerosmith (pronounced Arrow-smith)\". I remember reading Circus magazine, and they were always stating that it was Arrow, not Air-o. All interviews with the band stated the same thing.

I was listening to the radio, and Joe Perry was being interviewed, and even he pronounced it \"Air-o-smith\"

I figure they sold enough records/tapes/cds/etc. to not even care.

  • Pronounciation is the kind of thing that changes over time, I guess.
  • Yea I read in a interview that LIVE had that problem. the name started out bieng pronounced like ...\"live and let die\"
after years of bieng called live like \" cheap trick live at budacan\" they just went with it.

My mother once walked into my room as a teenager and trying her best to be hip looked at the album lying on my bed and said to me
\" lin-rod-skin-rod\" I have always liked that band! :lol:

    lynyrd skynyrd
  • They gave up after the Rocks album in '76.
  • ROCKS, TOY IN THE ATTIC, DRAW THE LINE. You cant freekin rawk any better than Areosmith in there prime.
  • About 5 years ago, I saw them live, and was blown away. They were great.
  • Seeing them this Sat. night in Beantown. Although I'm old enough to remember their debut, never had the opportunity to catch them live. Can't wait! Neither can my two teenage daughters... they're a family-oriented band, right?
    - g :)
  • There wasn't much \"foul\" language at all. They were incredible. Tyler is a great showman, ala Jagger.
  • :D Areosmith doesnt have to act like foul mouth jerks onstage ( axl Rose)to get people fired up at ther shows they just Rawk out loud!

They have no need for cheep theatrics, they are the real deal as you will see at the gig...I saw them on there \"done with mirrors\" tour. DUUUUUuuuude! what a freekin show. Steven Tyler is hands down in my opinion one the best rock vocalist still alive a playing today! I know Plants still out there so is Brian Johnson,Claus, and alot of others but most of these guys are loosing there hi range due to age  ...Tylers voice seems like it will never die. He has had some kryptonite throut spray or somethin cause He and Robin Zander (for older guys) are still preforming at there best. 2 of my personal music Heros!!

    just my 2 cents!
  • Add Alice Cooper to that list. I saw him a few years ago. He was simply fantastic. I was mesmerized. When he played \"Halo of Flies\" (an obscure song for hardcore AC fans), I almost lost it.

Reb Beach was on guitar. Possibly the best show that I have ever seen.
