Wives and cars

Well my wife decided she needed to check the transmission fluid in my 93 Mustang GT. She spent several minutes searching for the transmission dip stick, then asked a neighbor for help. They never found the dip stick. :? When she asked me where it was, I started laughing and told her the car has a manual transmission and there is no dip stick. But I applaud her effort and concern.

Another time she added transmission fluid to the oil fill, on one of our other cars. I love it when she tries to get mechanical.

Oh well.

Credits for at least trying!!! Mine does one thing. and that is to put gas in it. So far no mishaps on that end, but I wait for the day when she drives off with the pump nozzle still attached to the car
  • We're in the market for a used car for our 19yr old. Reliable w/ good milage for work & school etc. We ( I ) set a budget and off she went.
She came back wanting A BMW for herself @ more than twice the price. :? Now she mad @ me  - 3 days now. So now I'm stuck doing all the car shoping.
  • A friend of mine once put oil in the radiator of his girlfriend's car. That right there is worse than a wife.
  • My wife put diesel in the Ford Windstar... it no take diesel... it no like diesel... it cost her over $400 to have van towed, diesel drained and engine flushed... She no get gas no more... I do!lol... ain't that a bitch.
  • Hey.. I like chicken pot pie!! Marie Callenders....yummmmm!!!!!!
  • One more story about my wife and cars. This one is scary.
My other car is a 1995 Olds LSS. In order to change the water pump, one has to set a jack and block under the oil pan, and remove the right motor mount, among other things. As fate would have it I dropped one of the power steering pump bolts and it fell into the frame and stayed. I went to the hardware store to get another bolt. When I returned, the floor jack and block were not supporting the engine as when I left. Why is the jack not under there I asked. She told me I had to move it to look for the bolt. I stared in disbelief  and said did it ever occur to you the f@#$%& engine might fall on your G&^%$ head. No she said and went in the house and stayed there. Thank goodness the left motor mount did its job, I was glad in this case the motor mounts were \"over-engineered\".

Don't get me wrong I love her very much, but she and cars just don't mix.
