Anyone got a patch for - boulevarde of broken dreams tremelo
<div style="displaynone">fiogf49gjkf0d</div>I can't get the gnx3000 to re-create the timing of the tremelo effect on the greenday song Boulevarde of Broken Dreams...
I have tried numerous depths and speeds etc but can't change the timing to match and hold the timing on the cd?
If you know where the patch is or the exact settings, please let me know.
thanks

1. Figure out the BPM of the song. I think it's somewhere in the 90-100 range, but might be way off base.
2. Convert to milliseconds. Let's assume it's 90bpm, or 1.5 beats per second. That gives you 666ms per beat. Because the tremolo happens 8 times, divide that into 8 to get the millisecond value of one period (666 / 8 = 83) or try 4 (666 / 4 = 167) see which works better.
[Instead, you can use \"tap tempo\" and tap your foot to the song as you play it back, then read the \"delay time\" setting]
3. Set the LFO-1 (in expression assignment) to Vol-Post. Speed will be 84 or 167 milliseconds, and min/max values will be the \"depth\" that you want. Shape should be either triangle or sine.
That's the way to get an exact synch on the GNX. Problem is, if you're playing the song with other people, you'll invariably play either faster or slower... maybe assign the Expression Pedal to LFO-1 speed so that you can make that adjustment live, just be sure to set min/max values of expression pedal to a narrow range around target BPM (for this particular song, you might start playing it as slowly as 70 or as fast as 100, respectively yielding MIN=214ms and MAX=150ms).
I really wish GNXs had a \"pedal position\" parameter for all of the effects.
Anyway, I hope this helps.....

That is an excellent reply.
You really know your stuff !
I'll try that out and let you know, but it sounds like what i've been missing.
Thanks heaps! D
hz = 1000 / ms
Thus, 150 ms is about 6.66 Hz. The highest you can go is 100 Hz, so some of what I wrote below (above?) is actually invalid.
Sorry.

I'll keep it in mind.
The floating expression setting sounds interesting.
The more i hear the song the more i think it may be a studio loop ?
It is not a 4 or 8 repeat tremelo ?
Maybe it came from a boss effect ? or a stompbox?
Thanks all the same. I'll get it one way or another.
cheers
I've been using the exact same trick last night to get the synth-sound from The Who \"Won't get Fooled again\".
Used the posted trick at LFO2 to get a tremolo effect, and also put the whammy to LFO1. It's pretty neat sounding (not the real thing but close enough for me
I have an AdrenaLinn 2, which has a patch in the 2.1 update that emulates that tremolo. Any beat-synched tremolo effect will do this. I'm guessing they used an effect that allowed them to synch to the track, in post-processing, for the album effect.

I just listened to the song (see how you make me pirate music) and it sounds like a tremolo. Also the dip/rise in volume is gradual, if that helps. But there are several ways this effect can be achieved, so I see no reason to pigeon-hole it.

Not sure what a stutter effect is.
Sorry i haven't been back for a while.
I'll try all of the above and let you know .
I've been trying to run pro tracks on my new pc for a week... it's sooo unstable right now...usb seems to be unfriendly?
Thanks for all the help friends.
