Song Reviews by a Newb

Hey everyone.

I was listening to a few songs recently posted on the 'old' Digitech user's forum:

Good jamming, reminds of Miami Vice though....still you are obviously a talented player.

Maharzan - http://www.digitech.com/soundcomm/patches/GNX4/rhythm_test2.mp3
Good mix. I especially like the bass guitar and the catchy riff.

Something you don't hear to much on this forum...a piano. You have a great voice and I think the lyrics are pretty deep as well. Cool drums too.
Although it kind of has a country feel to the song, I don't think you 'crossed that line' :D . Good stuff.

It reminds of Airplane radio, channel 6 (Delta). Not a big Jazz fan, but you can play and have a great sense of rhythm as well.

Although it sounds very 'processed' (Metallica should be more raw), I think you did a great job bringing it together. The bell sounds a little cheesy though. You did a great job w/ the 'chunky' riff in the beginning, the chorus guitara, and the drums. Vocals?

There you have it, my two cents (maybe a cent in a half). Remember I am just a newb who plays a cheap Fender like a beginning band student and plays the drums like a drunk high school senior.....

  • I only listened to the last one (For whom the bell tolls) and though it was pretty damn good actually. I don't understand your critique of the bell... It sounded like he recorded the original and then looped it in the appropriate places.

The bass in the beginning didn't sound all that great, bu once it dropped into the lower range it sounded much better. THe only thing I found was that the bass was a little low in volume.

    Otherwise a very good rendition.
