  • Yo, give us all the info you can.

system, gnx?, hook up devices, etc

There is TONS of info on this problem on the old site, check it.
I ended up using a midiman midi sport 2x2, after that, all I had to do was change my targets.
  • Yo Ho Well it used to work. Have not touched a thing since last year. Today it dont want to know. Gnx3 plain midi wire to a d connector on the computer. Thats about it. Gnx works fine on its own.

  • Start the process of elimination.

    1) Are you sure the connections are correctly inserted? Switch the ins/outs on the GNX.
    2) Are you sure the cables are in good working order? Try them on another midi device.
    3) Are you sure your d connector is functioning?
    4) Is the midi being recognized by your operating system?
  • Ins and outs ok.
    Cables good.
    Assume d connector works.
I tried the gen updater and it blanked out the gnx completly and asid it couldnt get past the leds. So assume the midi connections work.
  • I have exactly the same problem using a Midisport 2x2 between the GNX3 and the laptop. Worked perfectly, didn't use it for months, hooked it up recently, and no joy. The old forum doesn't have the answer. I'm going to try reinstalling both the Genedit and the Midisport software.

Which GNX? Are you using MIDI or USB connection?

  • gnx3.
I have a midi wire to the D plug. It used to work. I have just ordered a midi wire which will plug straight into my 2496 card. It would appear that a process is blocking the midi port. But how to get rid of it I dont know. I have reinstalled genedit but no luck.

  • Well. New midi leads plugged into the soundcard. Settings are correct I think.
    Nothing.
Is there anything I need to do to the GNX3 to maybe tell it to recieve midi?

  • Ha Ha. Me 1 gnx nil.
    Sorted the little git.
Plugged into the card and put the leads round the other way.
    What a nightmare.
    Thanks to all for help.
Now looking for something else to break. :-)

  • Update your drivers, and make sure both the in and out cables are plugged into your GNX.
