I've been cutting out sections and turning them into Groove Clips in Sonar. Did you know the drums on Physical Graffiti were recorded with only 2 Neumann U87's hanging about 10 feet over the kit? Amazing.
Levee Breaks was recorded at Headley Grange, a converted poorhouse in Hampshire, UK, using the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio. Not quite a castle, but with a huge, stone foyer, where they set up his kit. They tracked the drums using 2 Beyer M160's, about 10 ft. away, compressed the hell out of it, then added an old analog delay. (Binson Echorec)
Those tracks are all from the Coda Sessions. They are not the final masters. Nonetheless, they sound great!
