Soundblaster card reccomendations
Hi all,
I've been looking for a way to get some decent strings and other sounds in my recordings (my keyboard is a cheapo Yamaha PSR-330). I think SoundFonts will be the best solution for me. The problem is, I don't have a SoundBlaster card (my soundcard is built into the motherboard).
Is there much difference between the $120 Xfi Music and the $30 SoundBlaster live, and if so, is it worth paying 4x as much? Or, is there another card better suited for soundfonts use?
I'm not concerned with having professional-quality sound, just something that isn't totally cheesy and isn't too expensive.
Thanks

Personally, I wouldn't recommend any sound blaster card.....they will work, but are not really built for DAW's (digital audio workstations)......for 99.00 you can get a m-audio or echo card, the 0404, or the echo mia are excellent for recording music.......the soundblaster, like I said, will work, but they're more general purpose cards, not true audio cards for making music.......there are lots of threads on the old forum on this subject, do some soundcard searches.........
