\"scooped\"??

what does a \"scooped\" acoustic guitar sound mean?

Comments

  • Usually when some one says \"scooped\" they are referring to the mids being cut out with a V shaped EQ.
  • Most of the time, \"scooped\" refers to eq midrange GAIN or LEVEL reduction. Not necessarily a frequency change, but a cut in that mid freq level. Many times higher mids on an Acoustic or Acoustic Electric makes it too boomy and even creates harmonic feedback, like with getting a mic close to a wedge monitor..just this hum, or worse, the ear poking high squeal.
