TRIO+ Suggestion

I have owned my TRIO+ for just a few months now and I am already a huge fan. I have used it in a live gig and had a blast building blues tracks on stage. I have a suggestion that I would really like to see incorporated into the next version. I would like to be able to start recording the second song part without stopping the song. This would mean keeping the drums going at the same tempo and switching into loop record mode on a new part. The bass line could come in after the part is recorded. So that would make a workflow in performance work like this: 1. Play through the verse and teach the part to the TRIO+. 2. Jump into loop record mode and record the rhythm chords. 3. Arm the TRIO+ to record a new song part. When the current song part reaches the end of the loop, the TRIO switches song parts to a new blank song part. The bass stops playing and the drums continue. Record the guitar part for the new song part. 4. Press the button to indicate the end of recording for the new song part and the TRIO+ loops it again, this time with drums, bass, and the recorded guitar part. 5. Now play as usual, switching between song parts.

This type of functionality would let the artist create full multipart songs in a live performance. The bass dropping out for the recording mode of second and third parts would even provide an interesting dynamic for the perfomance.

My second suggestion is to create a tablet app so I can control the TRIO+ without reaching over to the floor. It would be great to have access to some of the settings with just a quick tap of the screen to adjust the mix or change a style. You may even be able to offload some of the storage or processing off onto the tablet (iPad).

This is one of the coolest pedals I have ever used. Keep up the good work!

  • Jim. I've only had the unit for 24 hours and this was a disappointing discovery. Makes live use of songs with multiple parts difficult. I tried a workaround by saving drum bass to second looper... But the the refrain sounds off due to bass. Seems like they could add a 4th switch combo setting on the fx optional switch that allows you to fix this? If you've figured out another workaround let me know.
