Capacitor usage for jbl 2446j

Hello,

Do I need a capacitor to protect my drivers( jbl 2446j)if am using the driver rack 260? If any what type and size and what will the frequency be for the crossover.

    Typically no, it is not needed. I see no real reason that you couldn't, but it should be used only for catastrophic events (like connecting the low amp to the horn).
    If you decide to apply one, be sure to set it below the x-over point that you intend to run the horn to prevent the DR filter and the cap from stacking and doing weird things. I believe I would go with the lowest usable freq for the cap. The formula should be readily available online. Search - Building passive crossovers, Capacitor values for crossover filters, or similar.
    Again, it is not required, not typical.
