Leveller Gate Broken???

Greetings,

It has been brought to my attention that the gate function of the leveller block is broken.

Could someone confirm this?

If is there intention to fix it?

The gate is a valuable function to prevent over-gaining. Without it, the leveller is nothing more than a compressor.

There is no gate in the Leveller. Do you mean the expander?
The leveller has not changed and behaves as it always has.
What is broken about the Leveller?

I meant to say \"Threshold.\" In the leveller block, the threshold setting should set an input level below which more gain will not be applied. I was told by tech support that this function is broken. I do not have hardware here to test.

Bug confirmed on hardware. The \"Threshold\" function in the leveller block is useless. If the audio input to the block falls below the threshold, more gain will still be increased up until the Max Gain setting.

It is my understanding and expectation that more gain should only be applied when input audio is above the threshold.

There is no bug. When the input level goes below the Threshold the gain does not change. So if it is applying +10dB gain as the level goes below the Threshold, then it will stay at +10dB.
I'm guessing that you are expecting the gain to go back to 0dB, well that's not the way it's supposed to work. If it did, the gain would be constantly changing as the signal hovers around the Threshold. This would be undesirable.

I am expecting what you describe. When the audio level falls below the threshold, the gain applied should remain constant. I am observing it continue to increase until it reaches the max gain setting.

That's likely to be because of the Speed setting. For example, if the Speed is set to 10s then the gain will take time to catch up to its final value, even if the signal has already gone below the Threshold.
