Voice activation

I need recomendation from anyone who has used a voice recognition program that will output to a serial port on a PC and interface to Netlinx, I am not talking dragon or like programs that control pc programs, but something that can be setup to deliver ascii or like messages that can be delivered to a 232 port on a ni controller. Not sure if it will do what you want, but I saw some info on HAL Home Automated Living. It does voice recognition and claims to interface with HVAC and other systems. Maybe it can be setup to send/receive the strings???
