Media Player

I am looking for a media player capable of playing short video clips (MPG or AVI) over HDMI connected to a TV. Does anyone know of a product that can take commands from AMX and play specific files or playlists on such a device?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Have a look at Brightsign players - exactly what you need.

These units will certainly play back video if you transcode it into a format, resolution and refresh rate that they like. The quality of video that can be reproduced with these players is limited however - you certainly can't play full HD 60Hz video on them. I'm not sure what playback quality requirements the OP has as he hasn't stated. -
Roku Brightsign
Because AMX is about 3 times the cost! I have used the HD-810 with great success, both as a standalone with a motion sensor and as a serially controlled unit.
Just make sure you have the audio figured out, they will not decode AC3 streams to the analog outputs (they will do pass-thru, though).

Exactly, far cheaper and a range of models depending on the spec you need. Free authoring software and lots of flexibility without a learning curve.
