Hi guys,
I would like to use a Ipad in connection with G3 Webcontrol.
Web Control works fine, but unfortunately not with a Ipad.
Sun Java is missing, but I do not know any app for it.
Did any of you done this experience, and a solution?
Here you can try it:

Login: NetLinx & password
For technical help, I would be grateful
Greetings André
P.S.
NXI ME; AXT CA 10, AXD CV 10, CP4, 2x Viewpoint VPt GS, Card Remotecontrol installed in my Home !

Use a third-party VNC app to connect to one of your existing panels, or else use TPControl to make the iPad a full-blown touchpanel.
-
Hello,
Unfortunately, this does not work for me.
All panels are G3 panels, and no Modero's
That would be easy for me! :-)
It is about whether there is a possibility that the Sun Java on the
IPad runs, and i can use G3 Web Control (HTML on the Master Webserver)

There's probably no way the JAVA G3 web control can be made to work on the iThings.
Did you know that you can make a G4 panel project out of a G3 project in seconds using TPDesign4?
There's a conversion wizard in the FILE drop menu. It works well, and makes a G4 project that does exactly what your G3 project does, and looks about the same.
Then you could use TPControl. -
I know John
It will also operate over the Internet, even if I am not in my wireless network, but as a friend?
I do not think so? -
I doubt that friendship will help.
If you mean instead will the iPad work from outside your own network, yes, if you set your router to accept port 1319 and forward it to your Netlinx. -
Don't want to spend the $$ for the app? You could just run the Virtual KP on the master then and view the html on your iThing, it's free but you'll need to do some programming to get the KP to control what you want so in the end the app could be cheaper if you value your time. Otherwise I think you're SOL.wolf_rueffel wrote: »I know John

Might be able to find a cheap G4 panel on EBAY even with a bad screen and do the VNC iThing. -
I have an 8400 with a bad screen if you'd like. :-)

Thanks for all the information.
@ John:
All necessary ports are enabled.
So it would work this way.
How much does the program TPcontrol?
@ jjames:
what do you want for it?
@ Vining:
Virtual KP? Can you tell me more about it?
Thanks to you all!

Requires duet firmware in the master. -

I want to export my G4 design as a web panel. Any ideas there? -

I guess I spoke too soon since it's no longer free http://www.amx.com/products/NDT-VKP.asp. Looks like list would be around $400.00 US. Wow!
There is also the AMX NXV-300 http://www.amx.com/products/NXV-300.asp which is basically a headless hardwired TP for the purpose of providing multiple simultaneous VNC connections which lists for around $700.00 US. Most real TPS can only sport a single VNC connection at a time and I believe this can handle 3(?). New TP's might be able to handle multiples too but I don't recall for sure.
You could try this module http://www.amxforums.com/showthread.php?6462-AMX_Mobile and see if that can work for your needs. It's not as sophisticated as the AMX's virtual keypad but it does allow multiple pages and can provide feedback.
I would go with the TPC app 1st but if that cost is too much then an old EBAY TP (or JJ's). I've also seen some AMX TPI-4's on EBAY too that were around $150.00 that could be used w/o a connected touchscreen, again just VNC or buy an ELO for around $600 (new 17") and do the VNC iThing and have a real 17" TP too. If you have multiple iThings that might need to be connected at the same time then the NXV-300 would be the least expensive way to go. -
I can tell you that the TPControl app works beautifully on an iPad. Also, please don't port forward. There is support for VPN connections in the iPad and most routers should let you setup the VPN fairly quickly. There is probably even a graphical step-by-step guide on the internet for whatever router you are using. Don't be lazy and simply open a port.
If you are concerned about cost, you could look at Iridium (sp?). I have not tried it recently (as TPControl has been solid and is supported by AMX), but it seems there are dealers having success with it. I thought it was considerably less expensive than TPControl, but remember that AMX does not support it officially.

$100 - that includes shipping within the US. -

The application file is still there as a free download ? Where did you see a list price of $400 ? -

The link I posted which is the same as your link had a dealer's price on it when I made the post. It doesn't today but did the other day. -
Hi guys,
Unfortunately, this does not work for me!
My master NXI-ME does not support Duet firmware
it's one of the oldest NetLinx systems :-(
