HI All,
I've got two version of the Duet Master firmware of NI700/900:
The first is the Standard Firmware: 2105-03_NI-X00_Master_v3_50_430.kit
and the second is what AMX call 64 MB duet master: 2105-90_NI-X00_Master_v3_50_430.kit
I've got a NI-700 S/N: 210570X1780136 what FW should I use????
Our thech support tell us to use the 64MB firmware but after the update I can't downgrade the firmware anymore it sayes me that the firmware has not the correct firmware ID.
I want to know if there is a rules to udestand what F..king Firmware sohould I use.
Thanks
Kman

There are 2 hardware versions of the NI-700:
FG2105-03 -> NI-700 w/ 16MB RAM
needs 2105-03_NI-X00_Master_v3_50_430.kit
FG2105-70 -> NI-700 w/ 64MB RAM
needs 2105-90_NI-X00_Master_v3_50_430.kit
The NI900 (FG2105-90) was the first NI-x00 with 64MB, and was the base for the NI700 64MB. So the .kit name relates to the NI900 but fits for both the -70 and -90 model.
From the s/n of your NI-700, you have the 64MB RAM version.
The NI700/64MB model can't be downgraded to non-Duet, because there never was a v2 Firmware available for them. -

Have a Nice Day

Sorry to dig up an old thread but..
I have an NI900 s#210509X0470150
I cannot upgrade to V4 and I suspect it is because I have an earlier lower memory version of the hardware.
Can tell me if the slot located inside would allow me to upgrade this processor? I have read that there maybe hardware mods involved as well.
Many thanks
Steve
I have a picture of it's inside below..

They are NOT upgradable by slot. The socket you see was for add on cards that AMX never developed for sale. Any mods would have to be soldered on the board, and probably can't work with the firmware anyway.

An easy way to tell whether you have a 32Mb or 64Mb NI-700 is to telnet into the unit and issue the "show mem" command. Have a look at the second part of the "Volatile Free" line.
The 32Mb units will look something like
Volatile Free : XXXXXXX/33554432 (largest free block in bytes/max physical)
The 64Mb units will look something like
Volatile Free : XXXXXXX/67108864 (largest free block in bytes/max physical)
The XXXXX will vary depending on how much RAM your program requires. The second of the two numbers looks rather close to either 32Mb or 64Mb.

Or just look at the serial number on the box or with SHOW SYSTEM in TELNET.
210503x000000 -> NI-700 w/ 16MB RAM
210570x000000 -> 64 MB
