JVC SR-S388 VHS

Hello, a quick shout out. Does anyone have or know where i can get a handset file for the above JVC VCR. I know it can be controlled by RS232, but i've run out of 232 ports on the master i'm using, it's full of important stuff like projectors and blue-rays etc, and as it's an old NXI master, I can't use a spare IR port as one way RS232.

Any ideas?

This only works with other brand.

But you can use a IP to 232 converter, It should be cheap.

Another thought is find an old AXB rs 232 box on eBay. I find this kind of stuff all the time for between $20-50 US.

Hm, so no handsets in anyone's librarys? The customer thinks he's lost his remote too.

We may have an rxb kicking about in the office. So that's always an option.

Solution

Hello all, I found a solution to this one, the JVC uses a wired remote RM-G30U for which there is a handset file in the AMX IR database.
