from what i heard

The reason AMX home doesn't use MAX is because AMX home is all about products that are sold to residential customers. K-scape has a much larger residential market. On top of that we have a MAX server in a residence, worst decision ever...you almost need to teach them how to be an IT guy.

Really? I've never seen a MAX system not in a residence. Seems more like they're phasing them out.

I had the headache of fitting a MAX server in a corporate setting - worst decision ever! Never fitted so many individual power conditioners / remtoe relays. Could remotely reboot everything in the correct order to bring the system back up...

At one time, they were the only choice for ripping video. Not anymore. But I always felt they were better suited to a hotel or conference environment than a home.
