Pioneer Receiver

Has any body been able to control the multiroom output of an older VSX receiver (vsx47/45) using the remote input connector on the rear of the unit? I've tried to go infrom the IR port on my 700 but am having no luck. I've tried CARON & CAROFF and setmode data.

Any ideas?

(the protocol for these units did not include the multiroom outputs - just the main zone)

Is it the wired 3.5mm plug control ports you want to use?

To use them you need the 3.5mm Xantech 794 interface, it lets you interface from a AMX IR port into a Pioneer SR port.

You want CAROFF and SET MODE SERIAL (not DATA) for Pioneers.

Is this how you plugin to a Pioneer SR interface without the need for anything extra?

Typically, yes. That doesn't mean there aren't an exception here or there, but that's always how I do it, and haven't run into one of those exceptions (yet).
