Has anyone used the Sierra Video 1208 series switcher in a system? I've been testing one with Hyperterminal to confirm the strings etc and found I'm getting spurious unrequested string replies every 10 or so seconds. Anyone come across this or maybe know if theres a fix?

    I have used the Sierra Pro 16 x 16 with the AMX-provided module. Operations were as expected. I don't remember there being any sort of polling.

    Found out why....

    With a little digging and splattering of emails.... seems the Sierra's use Lantronics embedded devices for their IP Interface and have a modified version of XPort. The firmware is repeatedly sending out a status command for their browser control interface which can't be turned off.. or not yet anyway. A fix is in the pipeline.
