MP3 Stream Data??

I know this is way off topic, but.....
I am using Barix Instreamer 100 audio streamers in several applications. The device has a command that is used for inserting meta data into the stream. Does anyone have any idea what this data would look like?
I found StreamName='whatever'; on some web site, but it does not make any changes when playing the stream through Winamp. When I added that to the stream while playing it through a Fireball, it caused the Fireball to lock up and only come back with an unplug!
Thanks for any suggestions.

This type of data is called an iD3 tag, and generally contains info such as cover-art, artist name etc
www.id3.org
has lots of info. I know it can break many players - particularly soundstore type units like gilderfluke and alcorn.
