I've had the same problem, and have come to the conclusion that it's one of those cases where you need an alternate solution. AMX abandoned it for a reason. The problem is that the PS2 mouse port is running on a very old chip, and most modern computers, including PS2-USB adapters, are not compatible with it.The mouse portion just doesn't work. My solution, the last time I needed one of these, was to buy an IR remote controlled mouse, and capture the hand held to control it through an IR port. It wasn't a real pretty solution; cursor controls were a bit spotty, but it was enough to get through a typical Powerpoint presentation.

Most computers will let you have two mice on them if one is a USB. I'd get an IR USB mouse and use codes on the TXC to control that (which is exactly what I did for my job that needed it - I got the IR mouse from HP online).
