Mio R-4 Question

JustinCJustinC Junior Member
I was wondering what software the R-4 uses to program the touch screen. I figured it would use TPD4 but I haven't seen a release to add it to the list of touchpanels.

Would anyone who has worked with it give some insite as to how the panel looks and how customizable it is.

Since they haven't shipped, none of the software seems to support them yet either. The R-1 is now programmed with KeypadBuilder, so I would guess these will too. KB has a "display" page for setting up the LCD on the R-1, so it would just be a matter of expanding that for icons, etc.

    Greetings.
Since Mio R4 is native G4 device, TPDesign 4 is used to program it.

TPDesign4 v2.7 supports the MIO-R4, and can be downloaded the common ways.

A few helpful notes on loading the R4.

    1. Remove the password from the R4.
    2. Set the unit to USB and reboot.
    3. BEFORE upload the new file from TP4, set the unit back to MESH.
    4. Now after the TP4 upload the R4 for automaticly reboot in MESH mode.

It will save you some time.

    Nice

I didnt think about that... To put it in mesh before the download, that will be a huge timesaver!

I also have the input button popup a maintenance page that has the 'mesh' and 'usb' button and the reboot button on it.. so you dont have to enter into protected setup all the time.

I just got my R4. This does save time. Thanks for the tip!

    Dear Mr. AMX
Any plans to implement the "smart tranfer" for the R4.
When a job has 9 remotes there is a lot of wasted time.
