PictureTel APTZ-1N camera

This is a much outdated PTZ camera that was used with the
PictureTel codecs.
I have acquired this unit and my client would like to attempt
to control this via IR as a stand alone PTZ camera.
The camera unit has an IR pickup sensor on it.
I have tried every PTZ driver that I have (Sony, Canon, PictureTel, Polycom).
I dont know if this particular camera has to talk the codec to operate.
Has anyone ever controlled one of these as a stand-alone PTZ via IR.
If so, whose driver did you utilize for control.
Thanks for any input.

I think maybe the IR is for signal back to the codec, Im not sure. Is RS-232 a possibility for you or do you have to do IR ?
-
I do have an available RS232 port.
I was considering making a cable to see if the camera
possibly listens to the VISCA protocol.
I was not sure if the 8p connection is standard or not. -
I don't think that will work, but I may have the pinout and code to control that camera.

This should be the pinout
Pin 1 - RX
Pin 2 - TX
Pin 3 - GND
Pin 4 - -12V
Pin 5 - GND Svideo
Pin 6 - SVideo Signal
Pin 7 - +12V
Pin 8 - Svideo Signal

The camera requires a startup sequence. I have a camera that uses the same protocol being used as office cameras utilizing an old axcent3 pro.
I can upload the code if you want to go through it and test it out. -
Any protocol data that you have that works would be much appreciated.
Thanks. -
Here is what I have as far as code for this camera.
If you need more, you can get a software serial sniffer and check out this website:

this will also work with picturetel PTZ-N2 -
Also works with the PTZ-4N. Good thing I didn't spend two weeks trying to reverse engineer the software from camerapad!!
