I only had a look into the protocol. It seems that there are 2 types of protocol, a Hex based (the classic one which has worked for years) ans an ASCII based which seems to be very simple to implement... (maybe they introduced this ASCII based protocol because of Ethernet control like several other manufacturers).

A customer asked for the prtocol and will implement the NP series but not until in 2-3 weeks...
