Problems with Sanyo PLC-XP51 Projectors

Has anyone come across the problem of starting up the projector with the RS232 command and the projector go's in to power failure.It does not do it all the time but its causing big problems with the customer.

    How quickly is the power shutdown occur? I need to know this before directing you in the right direction. <10 sec's or >10 sec's. The reason is this will indicate the area where the problem is most likely. Sanyo has a very defined set of steps that it follows at start up that the proc checks for in the first 10 sec's.

    The projector goes into power fail within 10 secs of starting up.

    Okay, good. The proc is detecting a power rail failure. Does this occur only with the RS-232 or when started by remote or power button on the unit. The usual problems when this happens are caused by a fan that fails to rotate, bad interlock. First thing I would check if it only occurs with the RS-232. That way it either becomes a protocol issue or a projector issue. If the client wants to use the AMX you could switch from RS-232 to IR commands to test it.
