MVP-8400 stuck inside MVP-WDS

Hello all,
hope you can help me...
i had a situation where i had an MVP-8400 docked inside an MVP-WDS, while i was downloading program into it, somthing in the communication got stuck and the download failed. when the MVP-8400 tried to reboot, it got stuck and there was no way for me to release the panel off the WDS! i had to disconnect the WDS power supply and wait 8 hour (!!!) till the batterys of the MVP-8400 gone dead and then i pluged the WDS power supply back in and it rebooted and i could release it from the WDS.
My Question is: isn't there an emergency way to get the panel out from the WDS or do i have to wait 8 hours if it happens....?
btw: the WDS was password protected...

If you remove the powr from the dock, hold the blue release button, repower the dock and keep holding the release button for about 15 sec and the panel should release.

i just wonder why it's not in the instruction manual... ^^
