  I just learned the general functions for the Yamaha DVD-S550 this morning but I haven't gotten a chance to test it.

  Thanks for posting but I was looking for the 1500 not the 550. I don't think the codes are the same. Anyhow, I was able to learn the codes in myself so all is good.
  
  I'm going to post the DVD-S1500 codes in the IR library so if you ever need them, they'll be there.
